Help Wanted: Farm Festival 2010

The Farm Festival is coming up, and we need everybody’s help to make it a success. In the coming days, we’ll ask people to sign up for volunteer shifts, to donate food, crafts, books, CDs, DVDs and more, to start selling raffle tickets, to contribute to the online auction, and to generally gear up for the big event.

Here’s some of the ways you can start to help right away…

Auction:

An e-mail blast went out to all parents from our new auction website on Tuesday afternoon. If you did not receive the e-mail, please check your spam folder. If you don’t find it, please send an e-mail to the auction committee at mcsfarmfestivalauction@gmail.com so that your e-mail address can be added to our list.

If you need donation request letters and donor forms that are used to request auction donations, they are available in the living room. You can check out the auction site at www.biddingforgood.com/mcs.

Books & Movies (used):

Once again, the ever-popular ‘Book Stand’ at the Farm Festival will be offering books, CDs, DVDs, and, yes, even VHSs for sale. If you have items you would like to donate, please drop them off in the collection boxes just inside the main doors of the school. Please also reach out to your friends and family for donations – everything helps!

Food:

Please be in touch with your class reps about signing up to donate at least one dish per family of food that can be sold at the Farm Festival. Each class is being asked to focus on one type of dish, and class reps can tell you what that is in each case.

Raffle:

Each family is asked to sell raffle tickets for the Farm Festival. This is very important, as the raffle is traditionally a major part of the Farm Festival fund-raising effort, and this year we have an array of great prizes, starting with two round-trip airplane tickets.

Volunteering:

Every family is asked to sign up to work volunteer shifts on the day of the event, to help make sure everything is running smoothly. Please let us know what slot you’d like as soon as possible, and give as much of your time that day as you can. Just stop by the table outside of the school to sign up or check your e-mail for an upcoming online volunteer form. Donations can be turned in into the Volunteer Form box located on the table in the MCS lobby.

Arts & Crafts:

The Farm Festival committee is requesting all hand-made items for donation done by any creative parents/friends of our community for the crafts table. Please contact Karen at karenkertesz@gmail.com.

Questions: Contact your class representatives or e-mail the 2010 Farm Festival organizers at farmfestival2010@aol.com.

On behalf of the Farm Festival committee, we look forward to your support to make this a wonderful day for the entire MCS family.

Sincerely,

The Farm Festival 2010 Co-Chairs
Thomas Hastings
Josh Kotzin
