Winter Farm trips include skiing at Belleayare Mountain

During their winter Farm trips, the 7th & 8th grade students enjoyed a day of skiing and snowboarding at Belleayre Mountain. Both homeroom classes had cold temperatures with snow falling on both days. Each day began with a group lesson taught by Belleayre’s excellent instructors. The kids progressed through a variety of drills with some moving to the handle tow trail and others to the chair lift. After eating lunch in the lodge, the kids were able to ski or board on their own for the afternoon. – Photos and text by John McDaniel, program director and nature teacher at the MCS Farm
